If the school of residence does not offer TK, those families will need to apply for School of Choice to a school that does. Attached below is a district map with the ETK/TK school sites. Transitional Kindergarten (TK) enrollment begins at the school of residence. The classes are comprised primarily of students with fall birthdays. ![]() Some kids might succeed at the neighborhood public school, while other children might fit in better at a charter, magnet, online, private or home learning environment. These classrooms are located throughout the city and have a 25:1 teacher to student ratio. Every child is unique, and all children learn differently. Transitional Kindergarten bridges the path between preschool and kindergarten. Transitional Kindergarten ensures that children have these pivotal skills, which are foundations to successful learning, when they begin kindergarten. Bambinos Childcare education centres provide quality Long Day Care, Before & After School Care and Vacation Care. The youngest students in a kindergarten class risk struggling academically, emotionally, and/or socially. ![]() Parents have a choice to enroll their student in Transitional Kindergarten or wait the additional year when the student is age eligible to enroll in Kindergarten. Transitional Kindergarten is the first year of a two-year program that provides children, with birthdays between September 2 and December 2, a curriculum that is age and developmentally appropriate, taught by credentialed teachers. Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is an exciting educational opportunity for children born in the fall. Transitional Kindergarten is being provided as a response to 2010 legislation that changed the entry date for Kindergarten from December 2 to September 1.
